Kelly Tires might not sound like a name you can trust, but we’ll let you in on a reassuring fact.
Kelly Tires is actually a sub-brand produced by none-other than Goodyear tires, one of the world’s foremost tire manufacturers. And not just in volume either, but in terms of quality, durability and reliability.
Goodyear actually offers three different brands of tires, with the third bring another well-known tire option: Dunlop.
Kelly Tires traces its history back to 1894 when it was founded as the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company in Springfield, Ohio. It was sold to Goodyear in 1935 and operated as a subsidiary until 1999 when it was fully absorbed by the brand. It’s headquarters are in Akron, Ohio.
Answering this question isn’t so easy. Because they are manufactured under the Goodyear parent company, however, this is a way to find out on a tire-by-tire basis. Goodyear does have numerous US-based manufacturing plants, including ones in Akron, Ohio, as well as in Danville, Virginia; Gadsden, Alabama; Lawton, Oklahoma and Feyetteville, North Carolina. Goodyear also operates a long list of other manufacturing facilities globally in China, Latin America, India and Europe.
To find out exactly which country and plant a tire is made in, just match the DOT code on the tire to the plan listed in this graph.
All Kelly Tires come backed with a limited warranty by Goodyear. If a tire is deemed defective in materials or workmanship in the first year or 2/32nds of tread life, the tire will be replaced free of charge. After that, and up to six years from the purchase date, Goodyear will refund the tire on a pro-rated basis.
