Gladiator Tires Reviews

Gladiator Tires is a brand operated by American Pacific Industries Inc. API also offers tires under the X-COMP brand (a Gladiator sub-brand), as well as the Zenna and RDM Sport brands. The company is headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona and has been manufacturing tires since 1982.

Formerly the company was called the China Manufacturers Alliance Inc. but it changed its name in the early 2000s to better reflect its expanded manufacturing facilities in India and Indonesia.

Gladiator Tires offers tires for light-trucks and SUVs as well as passenger cars, plus commercial vehicles and ATVs.

Under the X-COMP sub-brand Gladiator Tires offers the X-COMP M/T, the X-COMP A/T and the X-COMP ATR.

As one might expect the X-COMP A/T is the brand’s versatile all-terrain tire. It’s designed to deliver exceptional grip off-road and a quiet and comfortable ride on-road. It also comes rated for use in winter weather.

The X-COMP M/T is an extremely aggressive mud-terrain tire with the looks to prove it. In addition to the high-grip tread wth plenty of void to keep the tire tread clean, it uses a three-ply polyester casing, as well as both two steel belts and two nylon belts to make for an extremely tough and durable tire too. Pricing starts at around $173 per tire.

Finally, there’s the X-COMP ATR which packages a similar tread pattern to the M/T but in a tire designed for ATVs and UTVs.

Moving into the more conventional lineup from Gladiator Tires, the QR700-SUV is an all-season tire built for modern SUVs and crossovers. It’s built for a smooth and quiet ride with decent performance and grip. It comes with a 50,000 mile tread life warranty.

The QR500-H/T tire is a similar offering, but technically a Highway Terrain tire, meaning it combines the features of an all-season tire with an all-terrain tire. It offers a five-rib pattern for better grip and water evacuation on-road. It does come with a 30,000 mile tread life warranty, though that’s significantly less than most competitive H/T tires.

The Gladiator QR800-AT is an alternative to the X-COMP A/T, offering less grip (but still overall an impressive off-road capability) with more on-road manners. It also comes with a 40,000 mile tread life warranty. The Gladiator QR850-ATX sits between the two, offering a heightened level of off-road grip with significant capability to dig into loose earth, sand and mud – though not quite as much as a true mud-terrain tire. It does not come with any milage warranty. Similarly, the Gladiator QR900-MT, like all mud-terrain tires, doesn’t come with a milage warranty. The QR900-MT is a true mud-terrain tire with significant off-road capability, though it’s not as extreme as the X-COMP M/T.

Gladiator Tires Warranty

Gladiator Tires backs of all of its tires with a limited warranty that covers defects in materials and workmanship down to the last 2/32-inch of treadwear. Defective tires will be replaced. Taxes, mounting and balancing are the financial responsibility of the owner.

In addition, Gladiator tire offers a Road Hazard Warranty on its tires and will replace any punctured, cut or bruised tires that are irreparable if the damage happens within the first 25% of the original tread depth or within the first two years of ownership – whichever comes first.

All tires manufactured and distributed by API are covered by a 30 day satisfaction guarantee.
