Kelly Edge AS Review

Proof that a tire doesn’t have to be remarkable to be good.

Pros

  • Budget pricing
  • Decent dry and wet performance

Cons

  • Low mileage guarantee
  • Not rally great at anything

That might sound odd, but it’s quite true. The Kelly Edge AS doesn’t do anything particularly amazingly. In fact, it’s quite an unremarkable tire. But for many folks on their daily commute, it’s plenty good enough.

Now we don’t want to say that you shouldn’t look for superior grip on-road or off, but we know that for the vast majority of people, they don’t need their tires to perform at the next-level, just like they don’t buy cars to ether.

And with a large selection of sizes, and the ever increasing number of crossovers and SUVs on the roads, there’s plenty of demand for a tire like the Kelly Edge AS.

A conventional all-season tire by most accounts, it features typical rows of treads with a more solid center rib for on-center highway feel, while the outside treads are wider for added grip under cornering. The four circumferential grooves help evacuate water, plus there are plenty of other grooves cut into the more central tread blocks to further improve in wet performance.

As for a warranty, the tire comes backed by the usual warranties that a Goodyear branded tire would – which is nice, and adds a level of comfort to the buying process. As for a milage warranty, Kelly offers a 55,000 mile guarantee, which seems a touch low – except when you see how affordable these tires are.

Overall, we’d say that if you need new tires and don’t really have any interest in performance at all (you just need a set of reliable, quality tires at a great price) then you can’t go wrong with the Kelly Edge AS.

Kelly Edge AS Price
