Pirelli Cinturato Strada All Season Review
Made exclusively for Discount Tire and sold only through that retailer (in store on online) the Pirelli Cinturato Strada All Season offers a well-rounded premium all-season tire at a reasonable price.
PROS
- Grip in the wet
- Braking performance
- Quiet and comfortable
- Solid warranty
CONS
- Could use a bit more dry weather performance
The tire has the markings of a conventional all-season tire with four circumferential grooves to evacuate water and five rows of treads to offer grip during different types of driving and in different conditions.
The first thing you might notice about this tire is the plentiful amount of siping on the tread blocks. This is done to deliver excellent grip in the wet and help the tire offer some winter capability, though we should pint out that it’s not designed for extreme winter driving.
It makes using of an asymmetric tread pattern, which means it’s not symmetrical and has different features built into each row of tread blocks, although at first glance they don’t look all that different.
The center tread rib is mostly one single block that’s been divided up by sipes and some other water evacuation features. Because of this construction it does deliver excellent highway stability at speed and excellent turn in response. Moving towards the outside of the tire the next tread row and the shoulder tread row help give dry weather grip and performance in cornering while also offering unique features to cancel out road noise and make this an extremely quiet tire.
On the inside of the tire the tread row next to the interior shoulder is broken up into smaller squares, with this giving the tire more water evacuation capability laterally.
Wet weather grip is excellent, while grip in the dry is above average but not outstanding. That center rib we mentioned earlier does mean that the tire holds up very well under braking.
Overall, we’re impressed with this offering. It doesn’t stand our in any one are, per say, but it offers an excellent combination of driving capability with a quiet and comfortable ride that’s ideal for premium cars and crossovers. Pair that with a reasonably long warranty and an affordable price point and Pirelli Cinturato Strada All Season is a go-to choice for al-season tires.
