Uniroyal Tiger Paw Ice & Snow 3 Review

A budget-focused winter tire that definitely gets the job done, the Uniroyal Tiger Paw Ice & Snow 3 is an excellent option to give your ride grip when the temperature drops and the snow falls.

PROS

  • Great price
  • Studdabe
  • Excellent in deep snow and slush

CONS

  • Limited sizes
  • Pretty loud

Utilizing a unique winter tread compound that resists freezing in lower temperatures, this tire will ensure you’ve got grip when the temperature drops.

The tread pattern is directional, with an arrow-shape that’s ideal for forcing away water and slush from the contact patch. Owners report being particularly impressed with this tire’s capability in slush. It does exceed the industry’s severe snow benchmark and as a result wears the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol on its sidewall.

On snow the grip is impressive, and heavy zig-zag siping across the tread allows this tire to grip snow easily and gain traction even in deep powder or on packed-down roads. For added grip in snow or on ice, its also studdable and can accept #12 metal studs.

Performance on clear roads is decent, although the large slush channels and significant space between the tread blocks means there’s quite a bit of flex in the tread. As a result it’s not overly responsive. This isn’t unexpected in a winter tire, but it is more significant than a premium option.

Still, if that’s the biggest drawback, it’s a small sacrifice for the significant price savings.

It’s not the only drawback, however, as owners do report that these tires are quite loud. Most winter tires are louder and these are certainly still livable. Again, it’s a small flaw for an overall impressive performer that’s also quite inexpensive.

A final issue we have with these tires is limited sizing. With 15- to 17-inch sizes available, and a limited selection of widths within those sizes, it’s not easy to find a set of Tiger Paw Ice & Snow 3 for your vehicle.

If you do, however, they’re an impressive option to give you grip and keep you safe, all for a very reasonable price.

Uniroyal Tiger Paw Ice & Snow 3 Price

Uniroyal Tiger Paw Ice & Snow 3 Warranty

As with most winter or snow tires, the Uniroyal Tiger Paw Ice & Snow 3 does not come with a mileage guarantee. It does, however, come with Uniroyal’s standard limited warranty that protects the purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship. If any such defects are detected in the first 2/32-inch of tread wear, Uniroyal will replace the tire free of charge. After that point and down to the final 2/32-inch of useable tread life, Uniroyal will replace the tires on a pro-rated basis, depending on the amount of tread left.
