The silica-infused tread compound helps it perform well in the wet and cold, as well as on dry surfaces and in particular it has impressive braking performance to keep you safe. The warranty of 60,000 miles is low for this level of tire, and the price is higher than most others on this list. You do get what you pay for though.
The Continental Cross Contact LX 25 offers an impressive balance as well, with a much lower price point (by as much as $35 per tire in some cases) and a higher warranty of 70,000 miles. It’s equally capable all year, though not quite as engaging to drive.
Continental has another option to consider which is the TrueContact Tour. This tire is cheaper still and comes with a very impressive 80,000 mile warranty. It’s designed for an excellent highway ride, so don’t expect as much in terms of handling performance.
Getting more affordable as we move down the list, there’s the Yokohama YK740 GTX and YK-CTX, with the former offering a sportier ride and the latter getting into budget-tire territory while still offering an overall impressive well-rounded tire.
Finally, for two unique options, there’s the Goodyear Assurance WetherReady and Comfortred Touring. Both cost quite a bit but offer unique characteristics. The Assurance WetherReady is certified for true winter use, making it unlike pretty much any other all-season tire. As for the Assurance Comfortred Touring, it comes with an impressive 80,000 mile warranty and makes use of an extra layer of cushioning between the tread compound and tire casing to deliver an amazingly comfortable ride – something we feel many Lincoln buyers would be interested in.
