PROS

  • Mostly quiet / comfortable ride
  • Excellent dry and wet traction
  • Attractive pricing

CONS

  • Braking performance could be improved
  • Some tread noise at lower speeds

Cooper continues to produce tires that edge closer and closer to the top tier manufacturers in each segment. Here, however, they have built a tire that’s competing more in the budget space – at least if you’re looking at price.

Competing with tires like the Kumho Crugen HP71, Cooper has delivered an option that has a lot to recommend.

Designed with a conventional five-row tread design, it features plenty of lateral and horizontal slits to increase traction points. Plus large circumferential grooves easily evacuate water from the tread surface. Combining this with a high silica tread compound and overall grip in the wet is one of this tire’s best features.

Dry traction is also surprisingly good thanks in part to shoulder tread blocks that are connected to each other by a think section of tread on the inner side of the block. This helps deliver stable handling even at the limit and improves overall grip at all times.

Due to the heavy amount of siping and divisions in the tire, winer traction is above average – though we still recommend a proper set of true winter tires if you live in a colder climate.

When it comes to civility, the tire easily cushions bumps in the road and delivers a smooth ride. The tread pattern does emit some noise at lower speeds, though it fades out as you pick up the pace.

As for tire life, expect to get roughly 65,000 miles on a set. This is a touch lower than what premium brands currently offer, but for the price, it’s excellent.

Is the Cooper Endeavor Plus a Good Tire?

We definitely recommend the Endeavor Plus for its excellent value. Not only does it deliver long life and a quiet and comfortable ride, it both handles better and costs less than we’d expect.

Cooper Endeavor Plus Price

Atractively priced, expect to pay between $125 per tire for a 16-inch size and about double that for the largest 22-inch size.

Cooper Endeavor Plus Warranty

Cooper backs the Endeavor Plus with a 65,000 mile tread life warranty. It also comes with a 45 day road test guarantee so if you’re not satisfied you can trade them in for any other Cooper brand tire.
