Fuzion SUV Review

A practical all-season tire for crossovers, trucks and SUVs, the Fuzion SUV delivers value for the money with only a few drawbacks.

PROS

  • Better than expected tread life
  • Fantastic price
  • Gets the job done

CONS

  • Definitely a louder tire
  • Not great in snow

A practical all-season option from Bridgestone’s value brand, the Fuzion SUV delivers dependable performance and great tread life. There’s nothing revolutionary about this tire. It just works.

The tread pattern features a continuous center rib that provides highway stability and immediate turn-in response. Thick shoulder blocks then translate that cornering capability into real agility. The tread compound isn’t very aggressive, so handling is just average, but that’s expected in a budget tire like this and most drivers won’t find any faults here.

Wet weather traction is decent with the tire featuring good water evacuation capability thanks to four circumferential grooves and divisions in the interior tread blocks to help force water out of the contact patch. Fuzion makes a point of mentioning light snow grip on its website though we’d take issue with that. As with almost all all-season tires, and especially those on the cheaper side of the spectrum, the Fuzion SUV doesn’t offer much confidence in snow. (We also recommend a good set of winter tires if you live somewhere where it snows).

Overall comfort on these tires is good, although noise level complaints are common amongst owners. In fact, overall tread noise is the number one drawback of these tires.

A sturdier tread compound is used to help prolong tread life and it does a great job. While this might limit some handling capability, we think owners will prefer the 50,000 mile warranty. Plus, many owners report hitting the 50,000 mile mark and still having plenty of tread life left.

The tire’s construction is similar to that of the Fuzion AT with twin steel belts wrapped in nylon as well as a casing made of polyester cord. Owners who do run these on pickup trucks and use them under load report excellent durability and long life as well.

As an added bonus the tire features a rim guard n the lower sidewall to help protect your factory wheels (or aftermarket ones) from getting scraped agains the curb.

Overall we’d definitely recommend these for truck owners looking for some basic transportation with solid tire life for the money.
