Hankook Dynapro HT Review

One of the newest additions to the Hankook lineup, the Dynapro HT is a premium all-season performance tire for SUVs, crossovers and sport trucks.

PROS

  • Long tread life
  • Dry performance

CONS

  • LT tires get disappointing warranty

The Dynapro HT’s name really says all you need to know about the tire. The HT stands for Highway Terrain and signifies that, like a lot of modern utility vehicle tires, it’s designed for packing on the highway miles. The main stand-out feature of the Dynapro HT is treadwear life and P-rated tire (but not LT rated ones) come with a 70,000 mile warranty. (For more info about the LT tire warranty, see our warranty section below).

Made from an environmentally friendly compound the tread is built for long life. The actual structure of the tire is also built for a durable long life, with a reinforced under-tread layer, stiffer sidewalls, nylon reinforced steel belts, and a reinforced tire carcass.

Built into the tread are solid center blocks that help give the tire stability. This is ideal for the tire’s long-life, but also helps it as a performance feature, as it’s better able to withstand flexing under cornering.

Notable on the tread are some sipes (the little jagged lines) that are designed for cold-weather grip, specifically in the snow. While Mud + Snow rated, this is not a tire designed for true winter driving.

Overall the tire is moderately quiet and comfortable. Paired with it’s excellent long lasting features, and it’s a solid tire for an affordable price.

Hankook Dynapro HT Warranty

Depending on which Dynapro HT tire you opt for, your warranty will differ significantly. All LT tires come with just a 40,000 mile treadwear warranty – likely due to the fact that this tire isn’t really designed for trucks, despite offering a few sizes for them. Opt for any of the other (P-rated) versions of the tire and you’ll receive an impressive 70,000 mile warranty.

Plus Hanook backs all its tires with a one-year replacement guarantee if the workmanship or materials are found to be defective. For the first 2/32nds of treadwear they will replace the tire. For the rest of the tread life until the final 2/32nds, they will pro-rate the tire.

How Long Does the Hankook Dynapro HT Last?

The Dynapro HT tire is estimated to last roughly 70,000 miles with following proper rotation procedures and if you keep your tires properly inflated. How you drive can also impact the life of your tire, with overly aggressive driving wearing tires prematurely. Hankook does also offer a few LT versions of the Dynapro HT which are also estimated to last around 40,000 miles.
