Leao is a pretty obscure tire brand so you likely haven’t heard of them before. The brand is actually a division of the better known LingLong Tire, which is the third largest tire manufacturer in China and a supplier to several manufacturers there.

The Lion Sport MT is a true mud-terrain tire that really doesn’t make any promises about on-road performance or civility. A four-row tread design with massive tread lugs and huge amounts of void space allow it to easily dig into and churn up loose surfaces, and then toss it all away, The scooped interior tread lugs work to give traction forward and reverse, while exterior tread blocks feature stone ejector ribs near the base of the tread. These flex to help force out rocks or dirt/mud that’s become packed into the tread, allowing it to self-clean.

Shoulder lugs feature an alternating pattern to further give traction in low grip situations. At the same time, the sidewall features added rubber detailing which works to deliver an extra layer of protection and a tiny bit of extra grip when the tire is in deep.

Designed specifically to withstand not just extreme off-roading but the punishment of heavy loads, it’s made with a reinforced steel belt structure to ensure it maintains shape, delivering optimal grip and wear over time.

Catering to the off-road aftermarket crowd, Leao offers a large selection of sizes for most any fitment, including extra large sizes for 24 and even 26-inch wheels, as well as 35-, 37- and even 40-inch tire sizes.

Built to work where it’s needed, don’t expect much on-road grip from this tire, or civility either. All mud-terrain tires come with varying levels of noise and these are no exception.
