Using the five-row tread pattern of a conventional all-season tire, the Courser HSX Tour has a unique center rib design. As a result, the tire’s added capability in inclement weather doesn’t impact its ability to deliver driving dynamics. This isn’t an overly sporty tire though, so don’t expect too much from it. We’d describe handling as adequate and definitely sufficient for most drivers.
Four wide channels run the length of the tire to evacuate water effectively and reduce the chance of hydroplaning. in addition, each tread block features plenty of siping to grip in the wet and mild winter weather too.
For added summer performance, Mastercraft engineered a new sidewall construction that’s designed to maintain its shape better under harder cornering, to give you better stability in a high-riding crossover or SUV.
Built to perform as a premium option, it’s also designed to look like one, using ventless molds in the manufacturing process that results in a more polished look. Even the sidewall design has some handsome elements.
The 60,000 mile warranty isn’t amazing, but when you consider the affordable price, it’s hard to hold that against the tire.
