Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus Review

Whatever might be lacking in the Cinturato P7, the Cinturato P7 All Season Plus more than makes up for.

PROS

  • Fantastic all-season performance
  • Above-average winer performance
  • Quiet
  • Solid warranty

CONS

  • No run flat option

We don’t want to be too hard on the standard version of this tire, but it’s designed for OEM fitments and comes with more compromises than you might expect from a Pirelli tire. The Cinturato P7 All Season Plus really delivers in areas where that tire lacks, namely a strong warranty and and better overall performance.

Four circumferential grooves are designed to evacuate water efficiently and prevent hydroplaning, with the interior grooves being even wider than the exterior ones, handling the bulk of that duty. Plenty of lateral grooves running the width of the tire assist in pushing away water, while a unique tread compound is designed to grip in slippery surfaces.

The wide center rib gives highway stability and an immediate turn-in responsiveness, while wide shoulder blocks help the tire grip in corners.

Like with the standard version of this tire, winter performance is above average thanks to the plentiful siping on all tread blocks.

The ride is extremely quiet. A tread pattern like this used to mean that all that grip came at the expense of a noisy ride but not any more. Thanks to computer optimized pitch sequencing, the tire is whisper quiet.

It’s also a very comfortable ride which we point out in particular because often people critique run flat tires for being rather stiff, and the standard version of the P7 has that feature. That said, you can look at the lack of a run-flat offering as both a positive and a negative – if you’re looking for run-flat tires that is.

Overall, we’re incredibly impressed with this tire, offering all we’ve just said and an incredibly engaging drive as well. Delivering everything you’d want in an all-season tire, it’s even well-priced.

It’s also backed by the brand’s factory limited warranty that covers any defects in materials and workmanship of the tires. This includes a free replacement for the first 2/32-inch treadwear or first year, whichever comes first. Beyond that, it applies on a pro-rated basis down to the final 2/32-inch of tread life.
