Pro Comp A/T Sport Review
For most consumers Pro Comp isn’t a recognizable brand, but those who pay much attention to off-roading, or off-road racing need no introduction.
- Excellent off-road grip in different terrains
- Aggressive style
- Impressive mileage warranty
- Quiet highway ride
- A bit more expensive than expected
- Gets overwhelmed in deeper mud
Pro Comp was founded in the ’90s making off-road suspension systems and has been manufacturing tires since 1998 – that’s over 20 years ago, if you can believe it!
The A/T Sport is one of their most popular products and for good reason. This versatile all-terrain tire is a serious performer – and looks it!
The tires are aggressively styled on the surface and sidewalls, and feature plenty of tire tech to help give you grip off-road. The tread pattern itself uses what Pro Comp calls a “sweeping groove” design, to help push water and debris outward and toss it away from the tire. Plus, there’s plenty of space between the rows of tread blocks to help evacuate water as well.
Exterior tread blocks feature a staggered design to provide added grip in different off-road scenarios, while the tire’s shoulder design also works to give a touch more off-road grip in deeper loose surfaces.
In addition to surprisingly good off-road grip, the A/T Sport is a solid performer on-road as well. Dry grip is good, while on the highway the tire offers a well-centered feel. The tread block design also works to minimize on-road noise, as the different tread block patterns work to cancel out the noise from each other
If there’s one other stand-out feature we should mention it’s the tire’s impressive combination of milage warranty, money-back-guarantee and limited warranty for defective tires. See details below.
Pro Comp A/T Sport Price
Pricing for the Pro Comp A/T Sport ranges from $150 per tire for a 15-inch fitment up to $350 per tire for a 20-inch fitment. Retailers may sell for less.
Pro Comp A/T Sport Warranty
Pro Comp backs the A/T Sport with a solid 60,000 mile limited treadwear warranty. To us, that’s a true sign that these are not budget-brand tires.
Plus, Pro Comp offers a 60 day money back guarantee if you’re not completely satisfied.
We’re also impressed by Pro Comp’s Forever Warranty. Most brands cover full replacement for defective tires for the first year or so and then offer a pro-rated plan after that. Not here. Pro Comp will replace defective tires, fully, regardless of their age. That’s yet another sign of how confident Pro Comp is in its product.
