Radar Renegade AT5 Review

The Renegade AT5 is Radar Tires‘ most proven and well-rounded tire for light trucks and SUVs. If you’re willing to forego the usual suspects and test out this newer brand, this is the tire to do it with.

PROS

  • Surprising off-road performance
  • Great on-road manners
  • true all-year (winter) performance
  • That price!

CONS

  • Smaller brand
  • Limited retailers

A great looking tire from the tread, to the shoulders, to the sidewall, the Renegade AT5 is much more than just looks.

The design itself has a tightly packed center section of tread, which really helps on-road performance and highway stability. There’s still enough void, however, to deliver impressive off-road grip, while Radar’s new stone ejector technology makes sure smaller stones don’t get caught in the tread – something that can diminish grip (on and off-road) and also cause premature tire wear.

We also like that it’s made of a solid 3-ply construction, giving it durability when you do leave the beaten path.

Beyond that it’s extremely affordable and gets a solid 50,000 mile limited treadwear warranty.

One of our favorite features of the tire is that the combination of proper siping and its make-up mean it’s certified as a true winter-capable tire. Finding a solid all-terrain tire with true winter performance at a price like this is a very rare thing, so that that reason, as well as it’s on and off-road performance, we’d definitely recommend this tire.

Radar Renegade AT5 Warranty

The Renegade AT5 comes with a 50,000 mile tredwear warranty. In addition, most Radar Tires come with a Road Hazard Replacement Program warranty, meaning that for the first 12 months or 2/32-inch of tread wear, the brand will replace the tire free of charge, and for the first 50 percent tread wear or the two year mark (whichever comes first) the brand will cover half the replacement cost. Plus, as you’d expect, Radar tires will be replaced if they are found to be defective in materials or workmanship in the first 12 months or 2/32-inch of tread wear.
