Starfire Tire Reviews
Starfire Tires is a sub-brand offered under the Cooper Tires umbrella. Cooper is a US tire manufacturer based in Findlay, OH and also manufactures Mastercraft Tires, Avon Tyres, Roadmaster Tires, Mickey Thompson, Dick Cepek and Dean Tires.
Starfire is a budget-focused brand designed to offer a full line of affordable tires without sacrificing quality or overall performance.
Offering a decent lineup of offerings, the SF-510 and SF-510 LT are perhaps most relevant here. This all-terrain tire is designed to excellently mesh off-road grip with on-road manners and performance, while offering a 50,000 mile treadwear warranty and a great price. The tires are engineered to prevent uneven wear, one of the biggest reasons for premature tire wear, which is how it can get that waranty.
If you’re more focused on on-road driving but still have an SUV or crossover, the Starfire G/T might be the best option here. This premium all-season is designed for heightened grip, with large shoulder blocks for cornering. It’s also been designed to minimize road vibrations to deliver a more comfortable ride. It does not, however, come with a mileage guarantee. (The Starfire G/T is also available for passenger cars, although Sarfire also offers the SX5000 as a premium all season option for cars).
A more conventional all-season, the Solarus AS does the basics (and does them well), while the Solarus HT is an all-season that offers some mild off-road capability. Then there’s the Solarus AP, with a bit more off-road grip and a little less on-road manners.
Finally, back in the passenger car segment is the capable SF340 all-season and the WR all-season performance tire.
Overall, we’re big fans of most anything Cooper Tires does and puts its name behind. If there’s any real drawback here it’s that the selection of sizes is often limited.
Starfire Tires Warranty
All Starfire tires are backed by a limited warranty that covers defects in materials and workmanship over the life of the tire and down to the final 2/32-inch tredwear. During the first 2/32-inch of tread wear, Starfire will replace defective tires free of charge. After that point, Starfire will replace them on a pro-rated basis.
